On-Line Web Cam Sessions

For some people where access to an experienced therapist is difficult, continuity of service is important, and/or privacy is of the up-most importance, telephone sessions or web cam sessions have proven to be an effective alternative to in-office contact.  In fact, client feedback has been surprisingly positive.

Client Feedback:

As one couple stated, “This is just like being there except we don’t have to leave home.”

Another client, who was going through a very difficult part of therapy, reflected that she preferred the internet sessions because she could really allow herself to emotionally express all that she felt with greater ease from the comfort of her own home.

Other clients who are based in remote locations, who previously journeyed into the city at great expense of time and money, have expressed appreciation about the convenience of this option without the loss of the therapeutic connection.

Contact:

Diane Monteith and Sandra Forsyth manage their own schedule. The best and quickest method to set appointments, ask questions, and to learn of the fee structure is through e-mailing them at info@phoenixrises.ca All internet sessions must be booked on the same basis as an in-office session. The same cancellation policy applies.

Requirements for an on-line session:

  1. A computer with either built-in sound or, in the absence of such, an external microphone can be purchased. In addition, it is necessary to have a built-in web camera or in the absence of such, an external one can be purchased at reasonable cost, and added to your computer.

  2. High Speed Internet Connection:  The basic high speed can work, however, upgrading to the next level will provide a more consistent transmission without interruption.  The higher the speed, the better the visual and audio transmission.  Contact the therapist to confirm your set up.

  3. A free Skype download.  Google ‘Skype’ and follow the three step set up directions.  In that process, you will have to create a Skype name that is attached to an e-mail address.  Be prepared to provide your Skype name so that it can be added to the therapist’s Skype list.  When you set up a Skype session for the first time, the therapist will provide their Skype name.

  4. A Visa or MasterCard for payment of service.  For all new clients, this must be provided up front at the beginning of the session along with basic information to open a file, such as name, address, phone numbers, etc.

Innovative, high impact, experiential teaching methods optimize learning and create informative, fun filled, action packed workshops that will transform your life.

What are the office policies that effect me? The client is responsible for the following:

1. To book the appointment;

2. To record the details of the    appointment correctly, e.g. date and time;

3. To be on time;

4. To pay for the appointment at the  time unless special payment arrangements have been made and agreed upon.

5. To provide a minimum of 24 business hours notice of cancellation, being aware of holidays and weekends. What we ask is that clients give as much advance notice as possible in order to allow for rescheduling and filling of the cancelled appointment.

6.  If less than 24 hours notice of     cancellation is given or if a  session is missed, then there is a one-hour charge per missed session.
